The Tallahassee Highland Games Facial Hair Competition, The MANE Event, is shaping up to be one f the most interesting and fun beard and mustache contests to attend this year!!! Hosted by the North Florida Facial Hair Society’s, the MANE Event is the first attempt to conduct an event like this at the long running Highland Games. Daniel and Leslie Phillips are taking charge with organizing this fund raising event that will benefit the Broken Caber Adaptive Athletics. Bring down the whole family for a full day of Scottish heritage and fun and facial hair fun. Categories for everyone and some great auction items will be available-check out links below for any additional information!

Broken Caber Adaptive Athletics

Broken Caber is an advisory group focused on delivering clear and usable information to highland games associations, federations, and athletic directors to aid in putting adaptive classifications on the rule books around the world. With the increasing numbers of adaptive athletes competing in highland games across the world, a need has arisen for clear competitive classifications for adaptive athletes. These classifications will serve to create a level playing field within the large number of adaptive situations/needs presented by athletes. This will give highland games adaptive athletes the same representation as other highland games classes for record keeping, qualifying for championship events, and clear rules and regulations.

* One full registration ($25) is required for registration. Additional division entries are available as add-on's and are noted on the ticket name and image.

* Registration for the 'Mane Event' will grant you standard access as a guest at the Tallahassee Highland Games.

* Judges will be adhering to standards set by the North American Competitive Beard and Moustache Alliance.

Soldier Songs & Voices is a nonprofit organization that provides free instruments and songwriting lessons to veterans as a form of post-conflict care. Through music education and community-based outreach, we provide veterans with tools to turn their stories into songs so the nation can hear their voices. The Reveille Retreat is designed to connect both active duty and veterans of our Armed Services with nationally acclaimed songwriters and performers to assist participants in transforming their life and military experiences into song. The Reveille Retreat is held at the beautiful TR Ranch in Hallettsville, Texas which is centrally located between Austin, San Antonio and Houston. The TR Ranch is a working cattle ranch which also hosts the Songwriter Serenade and the Live Oak Fiddle Camp. The ranch provides lodging, food and beverage service, workshop facilities, a performance venue and a recording studio for the participants.
